This bachelor project deals with how Fakta’s stores can improve the environmental impact of each store in a profitable way. The problem definition has been formulated as follows: "How is Fakta’s CO2 impact on the environment reduced most profitably?". The purpose has been to illuminate the opportunities that Fakta has for making energy optimizations as profitable way as possible.
There were made a consumption analysis on the heat, electricity and a TEWI analysis of the refrigeration system. The consumption shows Fakta’s impact on the environmental. The result of that, has been that the refrigeration systems is clearly the greatest influence on the environmental. The conclusion is that according to legislation, that many of the old refrigeration plants must be changed in a short period of time.
At the same time, an environmentally solution for switching to a CO2 refrigeration system will be a good decision. Environmental improvements are then been analyzed in a cost-benefit analysis to find the most profitable and environmental solution. The cost-benefit analysis has been used to analyze whether surplus heat recovery, solar cells or heat pump is the most profitable and environmentally best solution. It became clear that the heat pump solution is clearly the best and the solution that reduces CO2 emissions most and at the same time has the best payback time.
