This bachelor project is based upon my internship at Daka Proteins.
The project deals with the company’s water-cooling system, which is an important part of the many processes in the production. Daka Proteins has a high interest in the effectiveness of energy. The main objective is to expose the amount of heat waste converted within the water-cooling system and to discuss the different ways of handling this.
To achieve the objective, the analysis is based upon the collected data of the flow and the temperatures of a weeks’ production. It has been calculated with the raw materials that have been processed in that period. There are aspects that influenced the results, for example: uncertainties according to the raw materials’ consistency in relation to their contents of water.
A sizable amount of heat waste is found based on the analysis that is a dealing part of the discussion. Focus is centred on responsibilities towards the charges surrounding heat waste usage. The objective of this report is creating a foundation for possible further analysis of the water-cooling systems’ heat waste regarding saving initiatives.
